Chicago has it all and enjoys spoiling its visitors and locals alike with a wealth of culture, shopping, dining and entertainment possibilities. As Frank Sinatra sang so many times about this world-class city, “it’s one town that won’t let you down.”
When should I go?
April through May and September through October are great months to visit. The weather is nice, prices are reasonable, and there are plenty of festivals to enjoy. Plus, the crowds are less than in the peak summer season.
How to get around?
Chicago has a good public transport system for some of the city, but not all of it. In the more tourist-friendly areas, you can hop on and off of metro buses, DASH buses, and metro rail trains. But if you want to see the city for yourself and cover more ground around the surrounding areas, why not rent a car?
Places to stay?
The LOOP, Hyde Park and Lincoln Park are the best areas to stay to avoid the crazy downtown costs, alternatively the gold Coast for access to their beaches.
